“Let Us Share the Gifts that We have been Given.”

This weekend marks the kick-off to our 2023 and 8th Annual Eparchial Appeal. The Appeal will run April 15, 2023, to May 28, 2023
The theme of the 2023 Annual Eparchial Appeal is “Let us Share the Gifts we have been Given”. The theme calls us to be more like Jesus for others. As stewards, we joyfully worship God by giving back some of the gifts earned from Him. We have been entrusted with substantial resources and have been taught by God to put these resources to work for others. The Annual Eparchial Appeal gives us the opportunity to follow His example by sharing some of our gifts given to us so that the Eparchy can continue to provide services that will be of benefit to all the Faithful of the Eparchy.
Thanks to your generosity, prayers and your kind support over the past seven years, the Eparchial Appeal has been successful in raising just over $884,125 for the Eparchy, St. Mathew Clergy Society, and the Bishop Roborecki Foundation. In addition, the Parishes/Missions also received another $151,565 through the Parish Rebate Program. Your support of the Appeal continues to nurture, grow, preserve, and strengthen our Ukrainian Catholic Faith and to make our parishes vibrant. A heartfelt and sincere THANK YOU for your support.
The Catholic Church, and by extension, our Eparchy, has the most important mission of any organization in world: to preach the soul-saving Gospel of Jesus Christ. Carrying on this mission, of course, takes earthly resources. Therefore, the future sustainability of our Ukrainian Catholic Faith in Saskatchewan is dependent on a fundraising effort through the Annual Eparchial Appeal. Most of the programs and services offered through the Eparchy cannot be offered by individual Parishes because of limited resources, both financial and human. That is why it is so critical that the Faithful of our Eparchy continue to collectively ensure that the Eparchy can provide these programs to the Faithful and the Parishes by supporting the Annual Eparchial Appeal.
The 2023 Annual Eparchial Goal is set at $250,000. This may seem like a big number, however, when broken down to an amount per each Parish Family in the Eparchy, it amounts to approximately $110 per each Parish Family. However, in last year’s Appeal, only about 20% of the Faithful in the Eparchy supported the Appeal. Therefore, we humbly and graciously ask those Parish Families who can do so to please make a gift of a $110 on behalf of your family, plus another one or two gifts of $110 on behalf of another family who may not be in a financial position to donate to the Appeal. Of course, the Foundation would be most grateful for a gift of any amount.
Over the next few weeks, you will have the opportunity to learn more about the initiatives funded by the 2023 Annual Eparchial Appeal and how they contribute to create Vibrant Parishes as a place to encounter the Living Christ.

In the next week or so, you will be receiving your Annual Eparchial Appeal Letter Package in the mail, which will contain detailed information on the various Eparchial initiatives and programs supported by the 2023 Appeal. As it has in the past seven years, your gift to the 2023 Appeal will make a significant difference and will serve as a powerful witness of God’s love and mercy.
