The 2023 Annual Eparchial Appeal initiative is now complete. The Foundation would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all the Parish Families who so generously contributed to this year’s Annual Eparchial Appeal. We also want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to the many, many Parish Families who continue to contribute year after year to the Annual Eparchial Appeal. For this we are extremely grateful. Certainly, our success would not have been possible if it were not for the support, hard work, effort, and commitment to this Annual Eparchial Appeal by many people.
The total funds raised in the 2023 Annual Eparchial Appeal was $113,431.00. The amount rebated to Parishes that exceeded their goal totalled $795.00. After all the expenses incurred in conducting the Annual Eparchial Appeal have been paid and the allocation to the Bishop Roborecki Foundation made in the amount of $8,763.60, the Eparchy will receive $78,872.40.
The initiatives determined to be funded by the 2023 Annual Eparchial Appeal included the following:
- Ukrainian Catholic Religious Education Centre
- Eparchial Communications Office
- St. Matthew Clergy Society
- Bishop Roborecki Foundation
- Chancery Support
The funds raised from the 2023 Annual Eparchial Appeal will be allocated by the Finance Officer to each initiative listed above based on the financial need of each initiative except for the amount allocated to the Bishop Roborecki Foundation.
In 2023, the participation rate of the Parish Families in the Eparchy who contributed to the Annual Eparchial Appeal remained at 20% which was the same participation rate in 2022. The highest participation rate occurred in 2015 when 33% of the Parish Families supported the Annual Eparchial Appeal. The lowest participation rate occurred in 2022 and 2023 at 20%.
The number of Parish Families who supported in the 2023 Annual Eparchial was 460 out of the total number of Parish Families in the Eparchy which is 2,320.
The average donation per Parish Family who donated to the 2023 Annual Eparchial Appeal was $246.59. However, the average taking into consideration all the Parish Families in the Eparchy is $48.89.
Two Parishes exceeded their Eparchial Goal and received a total rebate of $795.00 were St. Nicholas Parish, Uhryniw ($607.50) and St. Micheal’s Parish, Alvena ($187.50).
It is our hope that the participation numbers of the number of Parish Families contributing to the Annual Eparchial Appeal will increase and grow in the 2024 Annual Eparchial Appeal. We are hopeful that more Parishioners will see the important significance that their donation will make in the growth and continuance of our Ukrainian Catholic Church and Faith in Saskatchewan.
